Idaho 50501 No Kings 3 Speaker Guidelines

For Invited Guests and Rally Participants

Thank you for lending your voice to this movement. Whether you're sharing a personal story, offering policy insight, or rallying a crowd—your words help shape a vision of justice, solidarity, and collective power.

We work very hard to be intentional with this time allotted for speakers. These guidelines, including our ask for video submissions, are to help us curate the order of speakers for maximum impact.

To make the most of everyone’s time and keep our events impactful, we ask all speakers to observe the following--

Special note for No Kings 3: Due to popularity and limited time, we are prioritizing speakers who have previous experience speaking on passionate topics to wide audiences for this particular rally. If your speech is not selected it could still be hosted on our website or other platforms. If you are interested in building speaking experience, please get in touch with us for future opportunities.

Stay Connected to the Theme

Each gathering has a specific purpose—whether it's protecting voting rights, defending bodily autonomy, addressing food insecurity, or confronting anti-democratic policies.

We ask that your remarks speak to the moment at hand. Personal stories and political analysis are welcome when they connect meaningfully to the rally’s focus.

For No Kings 3 the speech theme is Stand on Your Rights–about knowing our Constitutional and Inalienable rights & exercising them. We’re looking for direct calls to action from community leaders in asserting those rights politically, legally, and socially.

Please Keep Your Remarks Within 600 Words

To ensure every speaker has a chance to be heard and the program stays focused, we ask that your prepared remarks be approximately 600 words or fewer.

This word count typically translates to about 4–5 minutes when spoken aloud. We encourage you to draft and rehearse your message to fit this guideline for maximum impact and clarity.

The Deadlines

All speech submissions must be in before March 18th at noon.

At 10am on Saturday, March 14th, Idaho 50501 will be available to record submissions at the Boise Capitol steps. You may also record on your own, in any location. You may submit a speech transcript early if you would like feedback; please let us know if that is something you are interested in.

If you are unable to make a recorded submission, you may submit a link to a previous speech you’ve delivered in a similar setting alongside the transcript of your speech for No Kings 3. We want to make sure speakers are experienced & able to project clearly & with passion so that a very large audience can understand & connect with the message as much as possible.

Stay on Script

It is important that you ad-lib your speech as little as possible. We give copies to the interpreters and when you go off script it makes their job very difficult. We ask that you stick as close as possible to your scripted speech.

Speak with Purpose and Respect

Idaho 50501 believes in challenging injustice—not attacking individuals.

We ask that all remarks avoid personal insults, hate speech, or language targeting race, gender, sexuality, religion, or ability.

We welcome righteous anger. But we don’t platform dehumanization. Let’s speak truth to power in a way that strengthens community and builds shared vision.

We’re All Part of the Bigger Picture

Your voice is a vital part of this movement. When we speak clearly, passionately, and respectfully, we help shift what’s possible—both for those in the crowd and for those watching from afar.

We’re honored to have you with us. Thank you for showing up with care and intention.

Please Note:

We are honored by every submission and grateful for your passion. While we review all proposed speeches with care, submitting one does not guarantee a speaking slot. Our goal is to create a focused, powerful program that represents a range of voices while respecting time limits. If you're not selected this time, please don't be discouraged—you’re welcome to submit again for future events.

Thank you for understanding, and for being part of the movement.
